How are you retrieving water from the well at the non-electric cabin?

Go with the electric cabin and tote the water or get it delivered.

Oh, re-read op. Go with more acreage.

Is this hunting property/get away or are you going to live there full time?

As always a wealth of information and ideas. Thanks gents for taking the time to post. I know that if we go with the 20ac (electricity) we will eventually drill a well and if we go with the 38ac (water) we'll eventually get electricity, but that time frame is further out than drilling a well. The price difference is a bit of a factor too. The 20ac is at 80k while the 38ac is at 105k. Oh BTW, the 38ac place is ag exempt ($45 per year), the 20ac is not exempt($1100 per year)

Yes, solar powered pump. Power is roughly a mile away.

There are ways to get both off grid. Just depends on your needs.

I can haul water but I can’t haul air conditioning! I would go with electricity if all other things are comperable.

Get a price for each and go from there. Electricity over a mile is probably going to be a lot more expensive than a well. Age of the existing well would play a roll as well. It could be a month away from a pump going out or any other number of $$ issues.

How far away is the nearest tie in for electric?

I’m a water guy but I’d have to say electric. Ac and heat rule. I can take a whore bath

Man it’s more acreage, has water, have you looked into how much it would be to add more solar for power? It would be pretty nice to be off the grid.
