I agree, if things do not change we will have a growing blue issue here. However, what should change is mandatory voter ID, tied to a SS number via a database that shows one vote per SS #. That database should be updated with death information as soon as the county issues a death certificate. We also need a wall that makes it harder for drugs, and people, to come into our country. You mentioned a few states that were annexed over the years. I found that interesting as I believe a senate seat was won in this last election because of fraudulent voting by ineligible / illegal individuals. That is only one example, the entire makeup of the Texas legislature may be very different if not for fraudulent voting.
