Looking at getting a bandsaw, your thoughts on best home use bandsaw

I have a delta table top 9 inch band saw that was given to me and it works good, but like most things as you learn to use it ,you want more power. Just my 2 cents

This is a difficult question to answer with out knowing what you want to do at home...I have a friend that makes violins at home had has an 18" band saw.

That said if you have the space I would really recommend a used 12 inch one. You get a lot more bang for the buck and 12 inch has a lot of options to add or improve quality. I got mine used for 200. I think, and could be wrong if you get a 10 inch if you use it you will out grow it quickly.

      Hope that helps.

If you plan on doing any re-sawing, bigger wider blades are the best by a long shot.

              Yup I have a 21” with a 5hp motor and it’s a beast. Currently running a 1 1/4” 3 tpi hook blade for re-saw.
