Great atmosphere and great game at the juice box last night. Gonna be a good season if the starting pitching holds up

He killed it in Spring Training. He will be just fine if he can stay healthy. I think he will be a .275/20/70 kind of guy which would be awesome if that is what he ends up doing. I think there is a very realistic shot that the top 5 guys in our lineup hit 20 or more homeruns this year. Going to be fun to watch this year.

McCullers on the bump tonight. To me this is the guy who has to have a strong year if the Astros are going to make a WS run. So much potential with him. Roy Oswalt spent some time with him this spring. I hope he learns, like Roy did, that soft contact is better than trying to strike everyone out. McCullers is constantly coming out of the game early because of high pitch counts.

Are they stealing Sipp's shoes and glove before every game?
Locking him out of the bullpen?

Need to keep him completely out of the picture...and leave him there.
Maybe have a bake sale to collect enough to pay him off and drop him ...
I'll buy some..

It is like the Astros have a 24 man roster with him taking up a spot.

Lil Breggy doin what we all know he can do
The Old Cuban... we'll see.
then the new guys....im anticipating good things from them from their bats to the pitching machine Gustave is..(best thing is.. Hoyt is doing well too and is a phone call away)

make that 1-1 on a weak grounder to 3rd. Seattle has guys on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs in the 4th.

bases loaded now on an E3 on Marwin. The Old Guy would have made that play easily.

McCullers is looking great. He would look even better without those 2 errors behind him. Let's hope the offense can get him some run support now.

Marisnick will start tonight. Is it possible we see 162 different lineups used this year? Paxton going tonight for the Mariners was the hardest throwing lefty last year by 2mph. He avg'd nearly 97mph on his fast ball. The Astros did fairly well against him last year but that is some serious heat.

I was thinking the same thing....crazy lineup options. I guess you can see some pros and cons to not having a steady 8 guys on the field

We got some depth....
Beltran better get that bat moving, because he's not a very big help in left.

What scares me.. is the the more games we play... the closer sipp is to getting on the mound , most likely in a save-series-sweep position...
I can honestly say, even with the my noted concerns on the old man, I'm excited about every player on this roster (and some off of it) but Sipp.

Im hoping that if Sipp doesnt do his job in the first month of the season Luhnow will cut his loses and move on. They need at least one lefty in the pen that can get that one out 90% of the time at crucial moments late in a game. Sipp hasnt been able to get anyone out for the past year. Devenski is hell on lefties so maybe he is the guy.

That's really is the only thing worrying me about this team. No left handed pitchers. Where's Wandy Rodriguez when you need him??? LOL Sipps needs to go.

I miss the days of knowing who was going to be in the line-up everyday, where they would play and where they would bat. I didnt have to wait and see what the manager was posting up for the day. I guess that is just my old school way.

On anther note, hometown Jameson Taillon will be pitching for the Pirates against Chris Sale and the Red Sox today. I would love to be at that game.
