Default Operation mower re-build

This was my FIL's 15' shredder and is also the first 15' shredder built by Crockett Iron Works.

After years of use and some abuse it still mows great but it has a bad case of rust cancer.

I had arranged for the HS AG shop to replace all the sheet metal but my 2 sons, both of which are in that shop told me that I would not be happy with the shop work and we best do this ourselves. So we are.

Today we got the 6" of accumulated grass, mud & grease off of the top and got all the blades and blade pans off.

Next we will remove the gear boxes and start removing the top plate.

Good father son project Brent. Good to see those boys wanting to do it right. Having met them I'm not surprised

This has taken way too long but we have completed repairs and are blasting & priming today.

I will get more pics and details up after I get it painted and reassembled.

You better put chains or something on the front edge to keep rocks and other stuff from flying up and hitting you. You don't want to learn the hard way.
