You guys are doing good over there. The Sam Houston has been real slow. Might have to make it over there again this year looking for turkeys.

Awesome. I am from Florida and we do a lot of climbing out there. This will be my first public land hunt in Texas. I am planning on camping at Sabine. Any suggestions on a good camping spot there? Also would you suggest a good area to look at as far as using a climber goes?

The hunting is good, WT are in abundance on or property but been overrun with hogs last few years. Still see some giants strolling out to the feeders late season.

If you can get in touch with the main office in Hemphill they have maps. Also when I was out there this weekend I noticed a few maps attached to trees near some main roads that showed designated hunt camps too

Bole's Field & Ragtown are both good for sure. Ragtown has hot showers for sure, can't remember on Boles.

Hunting is allowed all throughout the NF & WMA.

>Buck only in the NF (except during archery only & muzzleloader)
>Antlerless allowed in the WMA by drawn permit only.

Good luck!

Default anyone ever hunt off of fr114 in the moore?

I hunted thanksgiving weekend just north of the camp area off of 114 in moore plantation and saw a nice size doe but I had to let it walk as I had no antlerless permit. Anyone here ever see any hogs around 114 in the moore?

Any of y'all going to be camping this year? I live fairly close and usually just go home but that 1 1/2 hour drive gets old. Gonna camp out a bunch this year to save some gas.

It's hard hunting but I keep going back every year. Place is full of deer if you put the time in. I always have good luck hunting a hardwood bottom that borders a large area of very thick cover. Deer around where I hunt love to cruise the edge of the thick stuff and also the creeks.

About the same here. Started hunting with my dad out there probably 15 or so years ago. Took a year or two off when I was on a lease but have always been in the same spot there. Drive a black fx4 Ford f150 with a bowtech sticker so if you see it feel free to say hello.

Went out Friday and did some scouting on the usual spots and a few new ones on the Moore.....Deer sign looks good, a lot of tree rubs. Acorns are on the ground although its small ones. Mosquitos gave me every form of west nile and zika virus you can get. I'm pretty sure one of them flew off with my thermocell. Even covered in bug spray they were still bad.

I hunt off rice field road if you know where that is, I'll be there pretty much every weekend during deer season. Also will be doing some camping out there this year so a campfire and cold beer invite is always there.

Really dont know where to hunt this year. Some of the places I hunted last year seemed to be a bust. Im thinking of venturing out into the unknown. Found a few places that look good on google earth but I bet someone else has found those as well. I drive a white chevy texas edition. Stop and say hi or point me in a different direction.

I know of a few good places and I hunt by myself, so can't hunt them all at once. Haven't even scouted two of them this year but they were pretty good last year, and can only imagine they are better this year. When do you plan on going??
