Default Deleted Diesels...

Have any of you guys traded in your deleted truck? Iím considering buying a new one and my current F250 is deleted. Not sure what to expect from the dealer. Also, does anyone recommend a dealership/salesman in N. TX? Will be going with another F250.

I have never deleted a truck but I did run over a rather large speed bump that ripped my entire exhaust and egr out. I picked everything up and stored in my attic until I sold it vs trading it in.

I would recommend trying to sell on TBH or other sites before trading in.

In for answers from someone who has actually done this but my guess is you will have to sell it yourself. Doubt a dealership will take an illegal truck in on a trade.

I treaded mine in last year. The dealership gave me what I was asking for it. They were a little hesitant at first they just said that they would have to wholesale it since they couldn't legally resale it in Texas. The dealership was Vernon Ford in Vernon, Texas. Awesome dealership to deal with also.

There are delete friendly dealerships. Just have to be in a diesel forum group to find out who they are. I want to say a dealership on 45 North with a blue ball out front is delete friendly.

I know of many that have sold the truck deleted to dealers I get the ford X plan but I drive a Ram , so ford dealers are not something I look for but have you looked at this place they are less than a mile from .. huge selection will ship etc just a thought . they have 18 for sale as well .. https://www.netdirectautosales.com/

Deleted wise I would never own one that is not .. we had issues with my buddys durmaz doing the regen deal having to drive it for so long but he was almost out of fuel .. its got all sorts of confused did not run well for 75 miles chugging and such.. ex fluid thats funny right up there with blinker fluid .. other than one is real now HA HA

I have a 2010 Duramax for sale in the classifieds if anyone is looking.

That's what we did. Won't speak for other places but it's not worth the few k difference between wholesale/retail (after recon) to deal with it.

a dealership by law CAN buy a truck with deleted emissions, but by law CANNOT sell it. That being said a dealer will offer you next to nothing for your truck. The dealer in order to sell it to a customer would have to replace all the missing components.

That depends on what the truck is. 04 cummins with 200k it's pretty much not gonna make a difference. On the op's truck i'd expect about 2k less

I know this is off topic, but Im curious as to the guys that have this done.

1. How do you get your trucks inspected?

2. If you do this before the powertrain warranty expires, how do you not void the warranty?

I drive a gasser, so I was just curious.

They are only required to have a muffler as part of the safety inspection. There are no emissions testing on diesels in Texas. And it voids the warranty but people like to gamble.

That’s technically incorrect. Federal law says you can not remove or alter emissions equipment on any motor vehicle.

They’re cracking down in emissions counties these days. I talked to the local company that does most of the inspections, and he says if he can tell you’re deleted when you pull up, he will just advise you to go somewhere else.

Keep it modest and he won’t look.

I just started the delete on my 17 F-350. Added a delete pipe to replace the DPF, but the rest of it is remaining stock, including the tip. Itíll be a bit louder as itís now a 4Ē straight, but Iím hoping itíll be pretty modest.Im well past the loud exhaust days of my youth haha

I deleted mine and leave it parked on the stock performance setting. I ultimately had to put a muffler on it because it was WAY to loud. it sounded like a jet engine at a modest acceleration. (2012 F-250)

Yep, but technically there are still no emissions testing unless they have probable cause like it being loud and smoking, and gaudy. If youíre being an azz then they can definitely test you, at least thatís what Iíve seen in the cases I know of! But you can be deleted and still pass as long as you have a muffler!

I traded a 2015 deleted f350 in Dec. Four dealers would take the truck on trade in , two wouldn't even touch it.

This is the exact setup I have. Its not loud at all. that was my main concern before doing it but was pleasantly surprised afterwards. Has a nice low rumble to it but not obnoxious at all.

I donít understand your question. I simply stated there may be an unfortunate accident next week.

The repairs will probably be done by Texas Diesel Power in Weatherford.

My stock exhaust fell out of my truck as well replaced with EFI live and a 4" exhaust did it at 110k and have 160k on it best thing I did.

I would probably try to sell outright to if that day comes, I have been told by my dealer that they will not trade if it was deleted.
