Last fall was my fifth year as a bowhunter. I shot my first real trophy here in texas but I have been looking back after five fun years and found pictures of my first hunting season.
That year I was pretty lucky and shot my first ever deer. I will always remember this spike buck. My shot was a little back but I found him after a two hour wait.
A week later I travelled to Quebec to visit family and my brother put me in a stand for an evening hunt. This time, I taught I had shot a unicorn spike but a closer look (after a perfect shot) revealed it to be a female with an 8inch spike in velvet.
When I got back to New Brunswick, a friend told me I should try a gettting a black bear. He showed me where to look and we baited a site for week until this yearling sow came by my stand and offered me a broadside shot at 17 yards.
I have been hooked ever since.
