Where can I get brown vaseline?

My lab gets these allergy hot spots. My dad told me to put some brown vaseline on the spots. Does anyone know where I can find some? Knowing my dad I'd probably have to go back to the mid 50's to find it!

    Thanks in advance!

    Use the regular white stuff

I would think a CVS or Walgreens would carry it.

Won't your dog just lick it off anyway?

I think the whit stuff if the same, but if you let it age 50 years it might turn brown

I shave the area and use MTG on hot spots, you get it at Tractor Supply near the fly spray

Try Sulfadene from Walmart. It cures hot spots right up.

He meant oil mixed in vasoline, because the petroleum jelly will seal and the oil will kill the infestation.

is this like the shower and the athletes foot thing?

                    haha

really, never heard of that....wonder what it would do for poison ivy/sumac/oak? (the brown vaseline thing)

                      Try any drug store

Sometimes called black salve, drawing salve or draw-out salve and Carbolated or Medicated Vaseline*

The historic healer for cuts, burns, and more. Watkins Petro-Carbo Salve is still a must for every home medicine cabinet and first-aid kit.

I know an old time dog hunter said burnt motor oil and sulfur mixed to a cake like batter was good for blad spots on dogs, killed the mites and the oil smothered the mites and stuck to the skin.

CVS or Walgreen's will have it. It is just the medicated vasoline.
