In all honesty, I've never seen a mature deer at a feeder on any property I've ever hunted. We always saw way more deer on hand corn, as far as feeding goes.

Congratulations on a great buck! But you used a crossbow, hand corn, camouflage and a tent blind. How's that minimalist?

                Minimalist for today's standards.

As far as my bow goes, it has less moving parts and shoots slower than most of the modern compound bows. Also, I didn't have corn on the ground for this hunt. I threw out a bag of hand corn every few weeks prior to season starting. I rattled the deer in. He didn't come to feed.

                Thank you for the congratulations

Congrats on the success! Hunting is expensive. Just grateful to God I can do it at this point in my life. Nothing fancy, but I do enjoy getting into the great outdoors and flinging some arrows in a specific kind of hunting called Bowhunting.

Great writeup! I'm proud for you and the way you got it done. It would be nice to go out and just have fun again and not worry about "score", number of points, width and the dreaded "you should have given him another year "comment". Bow hunting should be fun and not a production. So proud of you and the honest critique of what everyone else thinks we should do as bowhunters!!
