I take the 4 that fit on my bow quiver. If I lose that many I don't need to be shooting anyway.

The most I have lost is 3, but I expect to lose 1 in a round of 30. But I have lost none. It really depends on the course setup. (Tall grass, leaves, etc.)

In my experience, the guys shooting woods fare the worse. Seen plenty of broken shafts.

      So it's a 30 target course?

Some places have more or less. Chester I think is 40, but somebody will be along shortly to affirm or correct that.

About 20 miles north of Llano, just off of Hwy 16.

Do most of you guys shoot your hunting bow at 3d shoots? I've been reading where a lot of guys have a lighter bow for 3d. My bow is 49lbs and I can shoot it 50 or 60 times easy, but I do have a lighter longbow too.

I only have hunting bows, so that is what I use for 3D also. I don't like the idea of getting used to something for several months, and then trying to change to something else to hunt with. Hunting is the more important thing to me though.

I use the same poundage & length as my hunting bow, but I use a longer riser with shorter limbs to make it the same length and same poundage, just more stability at the heart of the bow, plus it gives me an excuse to set up and tune another bow
