How do you acquire glass? I can get some cut locally but I'm worried about the edges being sharp.

Hobby lobby is your friend. It ain't cheap. But they cut and will fit it for you.

You mean like routing it so everything sets flush on the back?

Yeah, a recessed lip (rabbet?) so you can put your glass, backer board, picture etc. in and it is flush.

Oh, yea so I'll either router or dado the "inside"
