longbow string?

how do i know which length of bow string to get for my long bow. i had one on it when i got the bow (never measured it) but it got lost the last time i move. I know as soon as i buy one im going to find the old on which will be a good spare. but i also need to know where to get one around conroe huntsville area. im hoping to use it in april when i go to kjo to kill a ram.

MOST longbow strings are 3" shorter that the bow length. The bow length should be marked on your bow. If not, you can measure with a flexible tape along the bow from string groove to string groove.

thanks bisch ill look at it when I get home. I believe its a 55 but not certain
