    Feeder from scrap

It's been a busy couple of months getting ready for first deer lease in 13 years.
My wife has always told me it's easier to buy than build it, but I find joy in building things. Feeder is a electrical pedestal box given to me and frame is scrap steel. Took me a Sunday to fabricate. Still need to mount the feeder unit.

If you have pigs, I bet they knock it over unless you steak it down. Maybe they just move it around instead of knocking it over, but I would steak it down to be safe.

Always fun turning junk into treasure. Not a bad idea.

Dang, sorry to keep thinking of bad things, but just trying to help you trouble shoot. I bet the coons will climb up those poles no problem and get their hands on that feeder unit. Installing a cage around the unit will help protect it. Hopefully that box up top is medal too.

Bases are 4ft wide and but had plans on staking it down with T-post.
Darn hogs will knock over a truck if they can! LOL

Box up top is gray powder coated galvanized 1/8 steel.

I like it! I wish I had more feeders with the integrated ladder. Makes filling them easier!

And I don't see how hogs are going to bust this one up any more than a tripod feeder.

I guess it could be called a "green" feeder! Good work.

Got to do what you got to do. It looks good enough to get the job done.
                            And you saved some money.
