    Need AC/Heat help

Central air stopped circulating. When on AC the outside unit kicks on but and fan runs no air blows in the house. When heat is turned on the gas flows, burner ignites but no air is circulating in house. Is there a fan in the attic that has potentially gone out?

Also, what the ballpark idea on how much to get it fixed?

Check, probably a capacitor. Mine went out a couple of years agos. A $10 fix.

Yes. Sounds like either the evaporator fan motor went out or the capacitor went bad. I would guess they would charge $175 to come out and change a capacitor. It is a $6 part but it is usually $100 just to show up. A fan motor depending on the unit make would be around $350-500 roughly. I changed one for a friend last year and I think I paid around $90 wholesale on the motor. There is an outside chance you have a wiring issue but I would say the odds are high it is the motor or capacitor.

Yes. Sounds like Evap fan has gone out or stopped working.
Possible causes: bad capacitor, bad control board, bad fan motor. Price varies a bit depending if variable speed/ECM motor or plain blower motor. 300-1k.
If you can get to the indoor unit, open it up and first thing in heck to see if fan spins freely. Tha will help with a better determination. If it’s hard to spin, motor is bad. Can still spin freely if bad but internal windows will over heat and cause it to stop working.

Just had a tech come out and check it. Said circuit board was bad. Wanted $760 to replace. That sound correct? Didn't to me.

Aire-Flo. Here is the model and serial number. Also, I'm correct that this is a single stage unit correct?

Also, this unit is not variable speed correct?

Im not sure about those units. I work for Carrier so I was going to say if it was a Carrier I could tell you if it was a fair cost or not.

Yeah, this is the original contractor unit that was installed when the house was built in 2004.

Spot on. First check for anything like this. Cheap part and easy to check.

Like checking the truck battery. Start there.

                            Boards can be that high.

Yep. Just depends on the board
