We had planned a Friday thru Monday trip to lease a few weekend back. I almost didn’t make it due to a business trip to New York. That actually worked in my favor as now I have Tuesday off and am still up here with my wife Audrey. There had been two other bucks killed this weekend and as we were cleaning up a cull 6pt last night the strong north wind hit us. Woke up this morning to a nice white blanket of snow and the realization that a dream to hunt in the snow is about to become reality. We are in Hardeman co and this is my first year on the place. Knew going into it that a snow hunt would be possible. It became reality and I was able to capitalize. This old 10pt came in about 8:30. He was the fourth buck of the morning. I was surprised to have seen any at all with the 20+ mph winds. I was warm with the heater going. He presented a shot inside 20yds and I put a rage thru both lungs and watched him stumble into some brush 40yards away. Was so pumped. Still am. He’s a bruiser. Not the most inches we have walking around but a mature buck in the morning snow was something I couldn’t pass. Here are some pics.
