    Single Pole Winch-up Feeder

I had been needing to upgrade my feeder setup at my watering station so decided to try something a little different.

First my old setup was winch-up but I was afraid I was going to return to find my tree mounted feeder planted in the dirt.

My design had to be compact enough to haul in a pickup with not much sticking out, also I used 3 pulleys and hid the cable within the pipe to give coons less to climb to.

The base is anchored 2 post in 240# of concrete, so far everything installed great, time will tell how the varmints like it!

Good work! Like the internal pulley set-up.

Good job. And when the deer aren't moving you can brush up on your pole dancing skills!!!

You do have it where the wind cannot spin it around causing the cable to twist and snap yes?

Other then that it looks very nice to me.

My dad and I had a chance to install the 2nd winch pole feeder this weekend at our lease. I made 2 changes on the first design that I think will help; first I raised the winch height to 6 foot this means that any varmint or livestock is far below the winch. The second change I used the male threads of the upset tubing as the base part concreted into the ground, the female threads are found on the base of the pole, if we ever have to change leases we simply unscrew the pole and the female thread collar keeps water off the threads. Yes there is a chain on the bottom of the barrel that keeps the feeder from turning or swaying in heavy wind.
                              Here is a few picts.

I put the base in last weekend so the 2 bags of concrete could setup, when setting the post I put it a little out of level (1/2 a bubble), so the weight #350 corn would pull it into square it worked pretty good I think!
