Awesome fish. What were you using as bait? How far out were you casting?

I have never targeted bull reds before but have caught them. I am going down to Galveston next late October/Nov. and I am dragging my boat to do some fishing but we are also staying on the beach at Crystal Beach and would love you catch some off the beach. Any info is greatly appreciated as I am mostly a freshwater fisherman.

Another great video! This is the kind of trip I could do. You can have that craziness out by the rigs, in the shark bait boat!

I use Whiting or croakers that I catch in the surf on shrimp.i work my way up the food chain so to speak. I also cast net mullet and catch crabs for bait. You can catch crabs on chicken with a flash light and a net at night just about anywhere on the bay or waterways by the coast. It's a lot of fun.

I use a 5oz spider weight and a 10/0 circle hook for bull reds and shark. I cast the biggest bait that I can. You cant get a big enough bait out there really lol
