This is the second bow kill buck in 9days after my year and a half bowkill-less hiatus. This morning I killed the biggest buck of my hunting lifetime to date...and with my bow.
I missed this buck last weekend with my arrow glancing off the bottom of the blind window and sailing clear over his back. I haven't hunted there since.
This morning he and a small six point came in. My arrow fell off my bow rest as I picked up my bow and the big monster ran. After about 15mins he decided to come back. Since I was shooting down hill froma box blind, I decided I would stand up in the blind and make sure I was clear of the window ledge.
I arrowed the giant and he ran 42 yards from the shot and fell over. Double lung!
Since I saw him fall within sight, I only gave him about 12mins before I packed up and recovered him.
All the pain and hardship of bowhunting was worth it this morning.
He green scored (gross) in the mid 140's with 7pts and a small kicker on the left and 5pts on the right.
