probably hard to see blood when you are sprinting to your trophy! Awesome deer. By the way, I have shot 3 deer just like that an none have made it further than 30 yards.

Great recap Mike. I wish I could have been there to lay hands on him. You and James have done well the last two years with big boys.

Thanks everyone. After all the hype about the rages I decided to give them a try. I've shot a cull 10, the auodad and this buck with them. I got a great pass through on the auodad (which has yet to be recovered). BTW- Tuthdoc and his brothers helped James and I and we had good blood for a long distance. They are just a tough animal and although I got a pass through in the boiler room, I apparently didn't research my vitals ahead of time. It seem I should have made a hard quartering shot and drove it up into his chest cavitity.

On both bucks they were quartering more than I would have liked. I hit guts on entry in both cases and drove the arrow into or in front of the opposite shoulder, preventing a pass through in both cases. WIth this buck the entrance was literally 6" and his intestines clogged the entrance hole. (Pic attached) He ran so fast and hard that it may not have happened until he crashed at which point he fell on the arrow and pushed it out the opposite shoulder. Either way, a hole like that would have been very helpfull had I only hit one lung, etc.
