Why do they put animals hit by cars and dying of natural causes in the record book?

I read another article on this ram last week stating that the skull and horns weighed 50lbs! Incredible.

This news has upset a lot of photographers in Montana. There is a large herd up there that have been relatively difficult to get to and people are coming in groves to see them. My brother has watching them for years. Massive rams out there.

BC is about the animal, not the hunter.

New world record hunter harvested sheep came from Montana this year as well.
                    209 I believe.

Crazy how the 2 biggest rams ever scored did not die at the hands of a hunter

Why would it matter how the animal died. He still lived
