Is post count really that important?

I notice on several forums that if you have a low post count you won't get many responses. It seems to me if you liked/ wanted to build the forum you'd help the new member.

Its not important as much as A LOT of the guys on this forum have been on here a long time and have developed relationships with each other. So when you see someone you know post something your more likely to respond.
