Best deer counties in Texas

I've really enjoyed Callahan county. Good diverse terrain solid deer numbers and the occasional MONSTER buck (185+").

However, I prefer hunting the pineywoods just based on the tactics I get to use here.

Thinking about getting on a lease in the palo duro canyon next season though, too.

Collin/Grayson county for monster bucks. Bow only helps. Deer numbers are lower but the size of the bucks is just dumb.

Cottle County is my favorite though. Buck to Doe ratio is awesome up there and that's where I killed my biggest to date.

From my experience
Number wise Edwards, Uvalde ,Kerr, Real, and Kimble ....... Same for exotics.
Trophy wise Webb, Dimmit, La Salle, Maverick, Duval, Zapata.

These counties here have the most trophy potential without question. A lot of the ranches in these counties don't even enter their deer in contest. They like to keep it very quiet.
