Do you plan on keeping your current truck? I have had mine for 2 weeks shy of 15 years. I have owned 4 other trucks in my life. A 1979 GMC Heavy Half for 10 years, a 1988 for 3 years, a 1991 for 15 years and a 2000 for 3 years. I plan on keeping my 2003 dodge 2500, 5.9, 4x4 for 5 more years making it 20 years. I have just rolled 141,000 miles and had the front end totally rebuilt for the first time. I have spent a total of 2800.00 on repairs on this truck other than tires and batteries and feel that is not bad for that length of time. It is a clean solid truck and never chipped. I haven`t had a truck payment since 2006 and can`t believe what a new one will cost in 5 years. I never thought I would own a Dodge truck, but this truck has held together better than any of the GM trucks that I owned previously(never owned a ford).

I kept my last truck for 9 years, I reckon I'll keep this one about that long. I'm confident it'll last longer than that but I figure I'm worth a new truck every decade or so.
