All 3 of those eggs were ceramic. I got a ceramic egg in everyone of my nest. I went to get the eggs and noticed 3 were gone so I started looking. There it was, stretched out across the top plate. Gutted it and got my ceramic eggs back!!

Yessir, that's a death sentence around my place too for non-venomous snakes... especially a dang chicken snake... Long as they hang out in the barn and act like a rat snake and not a chicken snake, they're good at my place... but shame on 'em if they go "all chicken" on me!

killed 5 so far this year in the chicken house all but one had a fake egg in it. They kind of get a belly ache with the fake eggs and don't want to move around much.
