Made the decision to miss opening weekend at the lease with my hunting buddies to stay home and hunt this buck at the farm. 
Saturday was uneventful, decided to sleep in Sunday morning as he had never come in mornings.
Got in my tree stand around 5 Sunday afternoon, light was starting to fade, I looked up and the young 8 pt that was always with him was standing at the edge of the brush, I grabbed my bow and about 30 seconds later the big 9 walked out. He was quartered to me, I drew back settled the pin on the front of his shoulder and released. Shot looked good, he mule kicked and disappeared into the brush. I heard him crashing through the brush and then silence. Walked back to my dads house and told him what had happened. Waited 30 mins and went to look. Found my arrow missing about 6-8 inches and No blood on the ground. I was starting to get worried! After about and hour of searching I found him, I was on cloud 9! The arrow had entered right where I was aiming and center punched his heart. No exit so no blood.
He is the best buck I have taken. Had him officially scored today, 163-6/8”
