I was just saying the same thing about the penalty in the Dallas game. It looked like a completely clean hit. Canít drive into the ground???? He wrapped him up and fell on top of him.

It is ridiculous. Both of Matthews hits were clean and so was the one called on Dallas. When Aikman was talking about it it seemed they muted his mic.

Skinny

I agree. If you get the chance to lay the wood, take it. 15yds is a small price to pay for the QB looking for one player in particular on every play. That distraction affects all but a few elite QBs, in my opinion.

I saw the hit on Prescott and THAT WAS NOT ROUGHING THE PASSER.

Football is a violent sport and should have stayed that way.

Just my $0.02

The amount of non watchers in this thread could possibly beat the watchers..crazy? The part that drives me crazy is Dak took maybe 2-3 of the exact same hit and timing. Thatís not homer response but I guess I just do not get it.

Yep. Iíve heard football called a contact sport for years. Thatís incorrect. Itís a collision sport.

Basketball is a contact sport.

The Matthews hits were EXACTLY what they are trying to get the players to do, head to the side, shoulder tackle. Horrible flags.

Can you imagine the video reviews? Lets confirm if a finger from the second hand actually made contact.

They have that in the NFL. They just keep throwing those yellow things after it happens...LOL. Protecting the QB is getting to be a joke.

Or flags for "improper touching". Instead of facemask call, it would be a weiner grab.

Here is my question with the new regs regarding "Roughing the Passer": The rule is designed to protect the QB after he has actively passed/thrown the ball and now states that you cannot land on him with all or most of your body weight. In the Matthews penalty, the QB was still in possession of the ball, and would/should therefore be the Ball Carrier, not the Passer. How is he any different from a Running Back or Wide Receiver at that point? Why is the QB getting singled out with special rules, and not all players in general?

Cedar Park has a lingerie football team. Those girls flat out lay wood sometimes and you never see yellow on the carpet. Maybe during breaks at NFL games they could start showing hit highlights.

That is what is going to happen....which is fine with me. Actually, quite a few qb's have acknowledged that this is a JOKE of a rule. I expect it to be revised or actually repealed soon.

BINGO...Ö.with 32 teams in the league there are only about 8-12 so-called ELITE qb's. The LEAGUE is built around qb's, they are the highest valued asset, they are the reason owners cant sleep at night. The pendulum has swung to far on this qb ruling...ÖÖ.I expect it to swing back soon enough.

The roughing the passer call on the Raiders against Baker Mayfield is the absolute worst I have ever seen.....He actually bumped into him with his hands up...Baker didn't fall, just back peddled a few steps.....

15 yd penalty

NFL is a Parody of itself. It laughs in the face of it's fans daily.

Does anyone know what the heck that strange flag that Green Bay rolled out on the field was supposed to be?
