    Couple Of Knife Builds

Just some of the recent ones.
    Blades cut out and profiled.

    Rough ground

Final grind, drilled, sanded and ready for heat treat.

A set of scales stabilized and epoxied to the liners.

Getting ready to attach the scales after the blade has been heat treated, tempered hand sanded to 600 grit and acid etched.

    Drilling the scales.

Reaming the pin holes to .254 for a nice slip fix.

    Ready to attach the scales.

Epoxied up and clamped to cure.

    This one is finished.

    The other Damascus blade.

Well we're supposed to post the progress pics and most don't have the spare time to do it.

                          Hey Mike,

That bottom knife in the third picture, the one that it looks like you finished first sort of a drop point.

In that picture I don't see any Damascus pattern at all but later and in the finished knife it's there...how is that done?

Crap never mind I see it's acid etched...I thought you were a Genie or something

Sweet knife by the way, I like it.

Yes sir, it's not magic, there are 4 different types of steel in the Damascus and the acid affects each one differently to bring out the pattern.
