Default AR15 24" 6.5 grendel, who has one?

About to get one. What speeds are you getting, what's best reloading powder?
Anyone used RL26? I get 150 fps faster with it in my 6.5 CM.

My barrel is only 20" long on my Grendel you will get better velocity out of the 24". I had good luck using CFE223 powder and a 120gr Sierra match HPBT bullet. I do not have any way to measure velocity but it shot a .84" 3 shot group using 31gr of that powder in Hornady brass at 100 yards. I will take that all day with an AR.
I would think RL26 would be way to slow for the Grendel.
Look on the Grendel Forum under reloading it will help you alot!
You won't be able to use as heavy of bullets in the Grendel as you did in the 6.5 CM either; To long.
Good luck!

Mine is also a 20 inch barrel. To me a 24 inch barrel becomes to unwieldy and unbalanced. My best velocity has also come from using CFE 2230 but Iím still chasing the accuracy node with it using Hornaday 123ELDM bullets.

I have been working on a load using H335 @ 27 grains and 120 gr Sierra HP.
Don't have a chrono to test speeds but accuracy is pretty good.

Might go up in 0.1 increments to see if I can keep accuracy and increase speed a little.

Nice group. Should I get a 20" vs 24"? I should get another 100yds of energy killing power with the 24.

If you are getting it for long range brench rest shooting 24" all day. If you are going to hunt with it on the ground or out of blinds and shoot it 50 to 300 yards max you may want the 20". The way i look at it is the AR 15 is already a lightweight gun whats 4" of barrel. Now the extra length may be another story if you are getting it just to hunt with.
