Default Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrt!!

Any flight sim fans?

Eagle Dynamics/DCS world is releasing the A-10C II

I've been learning the A-10C (VERY complex aircraft) for a few months now. I am still blown away at the realism, physics and environment modeling in the sim (this is no video "game") And VR mode is amazing!

I can't wait for this release. The helmet mounted sighting system in particular.

There are moments in that trailer that I can't tell whether it's a sim or a real life.

My favorite next to the P52 Mustang.

The most important piece of the gulf wars besides our troops that were on the ground. True workhorse of the military.

so wait... is that all from the game or is there real footage spliced in there as well? If that’s all computer generated then ****, that’s impressive

I love that! At 0:15 in the video you can see a little black box that sits kind of under the pilot's right elbow. That is a digital video air data recorder (DVADR), a box that I sold them years ago. Yeah, I've seen some pretty cool mission videos

VR requires VERY high end system... CPU in particular. (they haven't quite optimized their engine for multicore processors)

I run it non VR mode on an Intel i5 7600, 48MB RAM(16 should be enough), 1080ti video and NVME drive... and get 100+ frames per second at maxed graphic settings and 1080p monitor.

That's all in game footage. The camera angles offer awesome footage for after mission saved clips. Lighting is important too (time of day).

The MFCD you see in cockpit (TGP and Maverick camera is very realistic)

I've run my system on my 4k tv a few times and it was like a religious experience

My best friend from the time we were 10 is a retired f16 pilot and he always said if you thought fight pilots were nuts you should hang out with some A10 pilots.

I had no idea of the sheer amount of multitasking required to manage, monitor and operate in the A-10C. I always looked at as a flying cannon. But *****!

My dad would tell me how amazing these things were. Come in all tore up, missing pieces, but still flying. My son is playing with an old metal toy one my dad got me when I was little. One of my favorite planes, for sure

I just sent some of these to my dad, he was a F-18 pilot (A6s before that). I miss being able to go on the tiger cruise with them. Those carriers were awesome to be on and watching take offs and landings was always fun.
