DIY Deer Block feeder -- T-post

After building my previous Deer Block feeder that attaches to a tree; Spindermonkey sent me some pictures of one that he made. So I copied it. All the design credit goes to Rusty.

The "attach to a tree" version is nice and a must have for one of my spots but it takes forever to build.

This one is much easier to build and place as long as the ground is soft.

It will hold (2) 33 LB deer blocks and slides on top of a t-post.

I will paint it before it goes out in the filed.

The box is a 10in X 10in and 20 in long. The metal bar on the bottom extends down 4.25 inches.
each block is 12 inches tall.
The pipe is cut at 45 degrees.

How heavy is it? I ask because I'd love one to put on the fence out at the house.

Not sure on the weight empty maybe 15 pounds? Once you add the 2 deer blocks it'll be about 80 lbs.

that is a cool idea, I would like to hear more follow up of how deer respond to it this season

That's pretty slick. Keep em off the ground and out of the weather (for the most part). Looks like I have a new project this weekend.

you are correct, I didn't think about it until late last night but to further make it more weather resistant I would add a channel to the top to create a drip edge.

I'm going to just epoxy something to the top of mine to direct the water away and off to the side since I cant get over to shop before my next trip.

Deer block feeder number 1 installed in picture one.

T-post Block feeder number 2 in the rest of the pictures.

                          Built it yesterday.

The lid on this one came out a lot cleaner.

Just needs a little grinding and paint.

How long do your blocks usually last?
