I was sitting in an elevated deer stand situated along a ranch trail and backed up against mesquite and low brush. I was watching the brush when I noticed movement and first thought it was a deer. When the movement hit an open spot I could see it was a big bobcat working it's way towards the trail from west to east.
It seemed to be following a general direction even though I was just getting glimpses of it moving through. The trail was pretty open where it seemed to be heading but not very wide so I focused my camera at the area where I thought the cat would hit the clearing.
Well, should have came into view by now I thought. I looked over the top of my camera and got this view of the bobcat just in time for one shot. It had changed direction and crossed the trail just beyond the field of view of my lens. Not the only time I have missed by any means.
