Texas AgriLife Extension, TPWD and TWA held the first ever Texas Wildlife Short Course this weekend in College Station. The two day educational event wrapped up today with the Texas Big Game Awards.
Extension Wildlife Specialist Dr. Jim Cathey did a great job coordinating the seminar and lining up a top notch group of speakers. Plateau Biologist Shane Kiefer did a great job with the Wildlife Management Tax Valuation.
A lot of detail was given to forages, plots, laws & regs, nutrition, and direction of the wildlife industry. I recomend the course to Landowners looking to improve their habitat and wildlife management activities, ranch managers, realtors, and those interested in Wildlife Management Associations.
Attendance was a little lower than they were hoping for at 125 people Not bad for year one. I will be back.
B+
