FN is a great gun maker and great quality. They also make the SCAR, FN 5.7 and several other very known guns.

That would depend on the model of the rifle. I have an FN SPR and it was $1500 new over 10 years ago.

Could it be a rebarreled FN Mauser? Fairly common, but great actions.
Weatherby started on FN actions. John Browning took them where Colt didnt want to go.

Yeah...FN is Browning, Frabrique National, Herstal Belgium . When JB had issues with Colt and Winchester, he took his biz to Belgium and struck deals with FN. Last project was FN grand puisance or Hi power model 1935 completed by Dudienne Saive.
But they made Mauser actions also
