    My first hawk.

Caught this guy out of the corner of my eye leaving the lease today. Grabbed my camera, and started snapping pics. He let me get within about 15 yards before he got uneasy. I backed out, didn't want to make him leave his perch. Got a good look at his talons, wow. Not a big bird but I bet those things would tear you up.

      Beautiful shot!

I bet he would tear you up. While guiding in AK several years ago I noticed a Bald Eagle about drowned and trying to reach shore. Well, some tall grass and a rising tide kept him from reaching shore so I thought I might try to help him with a long branch. I got to about 15-20 ft and he was hissing and flaring his wings ... SOB was furious... Well I backed out and a few days later found out from another guide he died.

I do believe that would be a red-tailed hawk--great color and picture.
