        They might have been sprayed with gunite. Like is used to form swimming pools.

                        I would have to mow and weedeat so much vegetation in order to see an animal. They look cool but why low in the ground? I can see a benefit of having the ground provide insulation but what happens when it rains or fills up with snakes.
