If it was me I would fix the transmission, a WHOLE lot cheaper than a new truck
THIS. You are buying a depreciating asset. A new tranny will set you back about 3-4 months of payments on a new truck then your done. The 60 month (or longer) finance is the gift that keeps on taking.

I have a 2006 gmc sierra with 169,000 miles, only replaced the starter. Still the original brakes lol! My Dad has a 2004 Dodge with the hemi. My friend has a 2006 tundra. My other friend has two fords. They're all good trucks. just leave them stock and take care of them.

I just can not see a Tundra being built any better moter wise. Gas millage is ot steller but either is it on most trucks. I have owned my truck for a long time. I have only replaced breaks and oil. I just rolled 250k miles and it still runs like it did when I bought it. I get about 13.5 mpg. Real life driving. 2008 tundra crew max. Pretty bullet proof.
