    lens recommendation

Going on a Alaska cruise in a week and I want to rent a good lens. what would be the best all around lens?

No such thing when your going to Alaska lol.

You need to rent a 10-22mm (landscapes) or there abouts, and a 24-105mm(walk around) . Minimum.

    Personally, I'd also be taking a 100-400mm

After renting the 10-22 on a trip to Washington State. I knew I would be buying one (and did). I've also purchased the 24- 105 and for a walk-around lens, you'll love it.

I would agree with Henry on all three of his suggestions.

Ive read great things about that lens.

But heres the thing. Its focal range is so large that you may want to use it for EVERYTHING, which is possible. But at more than 1/2 lbs heavier than the 70-200, OMG. If you dont do lots of manual labor for a living, this thing is going to hurt

          I decided once to forego a 24-70mm for a wedding and used a 70-200mm.

6hrs later, i needed a couple ibuprophen, LOL

The following day my wrist was in pain from lugging that thing around. And i even had a nice pro sling, so i wasnt holding it the entire time either.
