yessir, happens every weekend, its usually the biggest DPS LEO available....or the one with the most seniority

Correct. Paid by the University Athletic departments. Tier 1 schools mainly. Division 2 schools get the county boys and girls to watch over them. Personal security. All States do it. It's one of those perks as the head State LE agency. Google is your friend on this subject. There are some interesting contracts online to see how this works and who gets the nod.
