Seems there are more and more people on here just to sell in the Classified section. Kinda ruins the trust a lot of us have for the TBH Brotherhood. I wish there were a way to limit the number of items you could sell by a percentage of your other posts ( or something).

I have bought a bunch of stuff from the classifieds; don't think I have sold anything...yet. I have not had a single bad transaction, but I would be leary of buying from someone who is too prolific in selling items and do not participate in the great discussions that are available on TBH.

I guess I am missing something here, in what way is someone selling stuff in the classifieds bringing this place down? Are they hanging folks out to dry?

While I don’t sell much in the classifieds, I do browse them often. I also enjoy reading other hunting related threads as well.

I don’t really care who buys and sells here as long as they’re honest and not burning anyone. That just means more potential buyers for when I sell something, and more items that I may be interested in buying. So far I’ve had great luck on here.

Wouldn’t mind it if everyone had a rating.. I’ve only had one bad deal here on a scope I bought paid the 3% pp fee, got the scope and it was not what was advertised (he advertised different model), got refunded but paid the 3% again.. he said “it’s still a good deal” but anyways it only cost me about $20+shipping in the end..

I do look at the classifieds, but generally there is not much on there I want.

I do think that the mods should make a rule that if you post something for sale it MUST have a photo attached to the original post. I can assure y'all that I am one of the dumbest members on TBH and I aint got no problems posting a pic.

Classifieds are awesome, done my fair share of buying and selling. I had a couple of bad experiences where the seller sold the stuff after committing to me, other than that, all good.

I buy and sell on here. The only thing that bugs me about it is people that run their business in the classifieds without ponying up for a sponsorship. It’s really bad with some of the knife makers

I agree and disagree. Any seller who makes 8 or 10 transactions here and is outed as a jerk goes away.
The site has not had a bad apple in a while. I feel safer with a multi year seller - they are not messing around.......

Same here...I havenít bought a ton of stuff, but if the seller doesnít participate in the forum more than just the classified section, Iím not dealing with them. Iíd prefer to deal with people who are likeminded and are here for TBH as a whole versus someone who just joined to sale their crap

I would like to see a separate section of the classifieds devoted to those who are selling under the associate sponsor program. I’m more interested in the personal items for sale than the sellers who appear repeatedly with the same stuff. This is the way other boards are organized.

Is there some sort of requirements to be met before being able to sell? I can’t remember. Some forums require so many posts before having access to sell items in the classifieds, which seems to work well. You can buy off the classifieds at registration though. Could be a good way to go about it.

If you're on the classifieds much at all, it's pretty easy to keep a running list of people to avoid.
A quick search will pretty much yield any info you're looking for.

Those guys that try and buy stuff out from under you with a sneaky pm are getting pretty bad. I always will publicly announce my intentions to buy something. Most good sellers will honor the order of buyers if publicly announced. I just think that is the proper etiquette that makes a good classified.

Only "burned once" and after a PM complaint to the seller and his LAME excuse for a faulty part, I just let it go instead of BASHING him on the GS. He knew it had a faulty mounting screw, stripped out, but took the easy way out and denied knowing and did not even offer to refund?

Obviously he is on my ignore list since.

This forum is what it is and all I would like to see is uniform enforcement of the rules. Seems some, as mentioned, do just about what they want? But, it's still amusing to continue seeing the firearms OP's selling used at new prices. Guess if the seller paid too much for new, can't blame them for trying to recap their $$...always someone who will pay the price I guess.

The answer is the same whether you are judging a deer or a personís profile from the classifieds, it needs to be at least an 8 point and at least 6.5 years old to pull the trigger!
