I used as much of the original parts as I could to save money , and trashed as many as possible. The meaning of a chopper as I understand it was to chop ( get rid of anything not needed ) and keep it bare bones as possible. So off came stuff not needed , and what I added is either for safety ( new blinkers ) or function. The head light came out of the old fairing and was modified to work. The whole idea was to keep it as cheap as I could and still keep a look and feel I wanted.

I got some diamond plate aluminum and me and my son made covers and other parts for the bike with the plate. The brackets for the tank and a few others were done with scrap stainless. Most everything was a pain in the butt , the blinkers had me frustrated for several days. The hardest was figureing out all the wires and how and why they worked or didn't , but all came together. Got the front master cylinder on and all the calipers flushed and new pads on front and rear. Was a learning process and still learning....Fork seals were fun...

Can you turn those bolts on the side plates around or cut em flush, they will make a nasty hole in your leg if you have to lay it down.
