Default 2016 NFL Draft

I feel like it is that time. Whose your favorite team, and who do you want first round?

Being a Texan fan, I want anyone offensive. We had one of the best defenses in the NFL the second half of the season. While I want a playmaker, I'd be down to beef up the OL as well. We need a QB, RB, WR, and OL on offense.

I dont know if this is the year to find a QB, but I think we will take one in the first 3 rounds. That being said, I'd like to see what we have in Savage.

My prediction, everything I said above doesn't mean crap and the Texans select an inside LB in the first round. Which, (sigh) we really do need as well.

If savage is the answer, I'm not sure what the hell the question is. I don't know if this is the year to find a QB either, as franchise QBs aren't growing on trees, but some effort has to be made to get better under center. Not many great teams without great QBs. I'm no NFL GM, but neither is Rick Smith for what it's worth.

Beef up the D more or OL. Denver showed you don't need much performance out of the QB to win...just beat the mess out of the other team's QB and don't turn the ball over.

...this is the season to tank to pick up a DE in the '17 draft.

Cowboys - Would love to see them draft Treadwell, and Jonathan Williams

Edit: But it would never happen, although J Will would be a steal in the late second early third rounds

You think like me. Playmakers. I like both as well. But, neither will be playing in Texas.

I agree the Texans need a QB, but not sure if there's a franchise QB in this draft. I think they'll pick up RGIII and let him and Savage compete for the job. I personally would like to see them take a running back in the first round. I'd be happy with either Elliot or Henry.

I doubt theres a real great RB in this draft. Henry is ok if he has a line.
Houston doesnt have that line.

I'm a die hard RAMS fan. Have been since I was about 8 years old and I'm going to be 57 this year in September. The RAMS moved to LA but they are still my team. As for picks, we desperately need a true #1 WR. Our D is top notch. QB is questionable, but viable. I am still holding out for Nick Foles. I hope he rebounds next year. We picked up (last year) what will be our most prolific RB last year. Todd Gurley will be second coming of Emit Smith! HA!

I hope the Cowboys go heavy on defense the first two rounds , then take a running back or quarterback with 3-4 round, it should get interesting by March 9, that is when free agency starts, could indicate what teams are thinking in the draft.

Why would the cowboys draft a QB? They're about to pick up Johnny Football.

IMHO, cowboys need a MLB that's not as injury prone to anchor that D.

If we take Hackenberg it will be second round. He will probably fall that far. There aren't a lot of teams as desperate for a QB as Houston. I think RG may be playing here next season. Bit idk if we have the training staff to keep him and clowney healthy for 16 games.

Colt McCoy had Jason Witten and Tony Romo with him last night at the UT basketball game.

I will take Colt as Romo's backup.

Texans: I could see them picking up a defensive lineman in the first round and Hackenberg in the 2nd. RGIII will not be in Houston, he can't stay healthy and isn't a good passer, his only asset is his legs which keeps him hurt. I could also see them pursuing Cousins, Bradford or Oswieler for the starting qb position. Foster will likely be cut due to injuries nagging him opening up 8 million in cap space. I don't see them picking up any running backs in the first round ever, Henry has been abused running hard up the middle for 30 plus carries a game in college.

As for the GM, I know there is alot of hate towards him, he also had the team in the playoffs 3 out of last 5 years without a quarterback and alot of injuries to key players. I believe Kubiak's input on players had a big impact on several years of unproductive draft picks most of which have been cut.

Saints lose both OG's and the D-line is paper thin.

I'd draft all defense (DT, DE, LB) and pick up a veteran Guard in FA.

the CJ Spiller (4 yrs / $18M) , Brandon Browner (3 yrs/$15M) , and Jarius Byrd (6 yrs/$54M ) FA signings compounded with horrible draft choices have crippled this team

Where do the pros have Derek Henry going in the draft?

1. I would prefer the Cowboys take a qb with the first pick if Wentz or Goff is there, but they won't.

2. Barring a qb I would love to see them grab Jalen Ramsey, except that their absolute and complete ineptitude at evaluating CB talent almost assures that he will be a bust if they take him.

3. I REALLY want Henry. The next two seasons rely 100% on Tony Romo to start at least 14 games a season. That fact, coupled with what they've invested (draft wise) the last few years on the O-line tell me that the next most important factor in keeping #9 from being confused for a #6 is having a great running game/blitz pickup. If you can get Henry in the 2nd, I would be over the moon.

4. Jerry will screw up the #4 pick....bank on it. I'd rather he trade down and try to get another late 1st and at least get another chance to not completely eff up the first day.

5. Pass rusher.....bigger, meaner, uglier=better.

6. Try to get someone who can play after the 2nd round, they are terrible in the 3rd and 4th when good drafting teams are getting foundation players.

not even close ... Jimmy Graham was traded to save $$$ and NOLA needed a center and draft choices

looking back at the NOLA - SEA trade, IMO the Saints came out the clear winner

they got a proven leader and Pro Bowler at Center (Max Unger) , and drafted LB Stephone Anthony, Clemson who started every game in 2015.

TE Ben Watson had a career year and filled in for the missing Graham.

Graham and the SEA offense never quite jelled as unfortunately he blew out his knee at the end of the season.

one can argue the Saints missed JG in the red zone; however Drew Brees makes average WR's and TE's look good due to his accuracy and on the field awareness.

Brees does, but 35yo Watson just isn't the automatic mismatch JG (and the redzone is where that really shows up)

even if the Saints had Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, and Micheal Irvin last year, they would not have made the playoffs ..... swiss cheese defense was this team's Achilles heel

They've picked well the last couple years in spite of the old coot, he had to be drug away from picking manziel. Escobar and Claiborne come to mind.

That #4 pick will have him more loopy than the Johnnie Walker Blue.

Why would the Cowboys take a RB? So they can run him into the ground then not pay him? Plug and play, right?

Saints need another good def end or nose tackle.
Off line needs depth. Anything else with quality is icing on the cake.

Texans certainly need offense. QB, RB, and a #2 receiver. Not to mention depth at offensive line.
