Public land hog down with my son

My son is getting old enough that I'm able to start taking him out with me more and more. It makes things very difficult but it's better than sitting at home or at the park with him. I have been lucky enough to kill a couple hogs over the last week with him with me. It's pretty exciting to see how much he loves it at only 19 months old!

Trying to get pictures resized is a pain.

First one was a good sized sow with the muzzleloader. I was able to reload as some little ones ran through the trees and lined up 3 of them with one shot. The boy couldn't help but laugh when we walked up to the three of them flopping.

I did the little ones like you would a squirrel. Chopped the heads and feet off and skinned them then split them down the middle. The tomahawk made quick work of them.

It won't let me do more than one at a time.

A smile and a high five.

This one was last night with the bow. She ran into the river and her lungs filled up with water. She ended up sinking in about 6 feet of water. We couldn't get to her without getting him totally soaked and cold. I had to call for backup so someone could hold the boy while I went bobbing for the pig.

Found her and got her on dry land. You can see his excitement.

We've been teaching him to pet the dog gently. He does the same to dead hogs now too

I hope I am half as cool as you when I have my first kid. Getting it done on public is hard enough, doing it with your 19 month kid on your back is freaking epic. By the way your wife must be really cool too!
