Texas tells NFL shove it to their policy in off duty officers

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The National Football League has implemented a new stadium policy that would ban off-duty police officers from carrying guns into games…except in the state of Texas. According to the NFL memo, “off-duty officers who attempt to bring firearms into an NFL facility will be denied entry.” But a Texas state law overrides…

God Bless Texas. Liberals move back up North.

"The NFL says there are enough security personnel at stadiums to handle problems without needing armed off-duty police."

hmmmm...so NFL, you are claiming 100% responsibility...ok, gotcha
hope nothing happens, the lawsuits will fly

I have to admit, this 1 of the reasons I like living in Tx. Nothing like a sovereign state.

We're not the only state allowed to do this. Any state may pass a law overriding a corporate policy. It is done all the time. Politicians call it "corporate regulation".

That can be asked of many of the Nation's laws/policies.

I read yesterday that whereever that big game was held (I don't watch football), the LEO's of that state had filed a lawsuit against the NFL over it. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out!

Other state police organizations are suing the NFL to correct this.
