It all depends on what you are there for and the quality of bucks on the ranch. If you are on a mature 8pt or less hunt, then you messed up. If you have a shot at a trophy, then see what else walks out. IMO

Yeah, only a few small bucks chasing. Typically we see most of our big deer chasing around the 2nd week of Dec

This evening I had the buck pictured as well as this deer feeding side by side for half an hour with no dominant displays. Bucks stayed separate from does except for the few yearlings that did a little harassing.

Typically I do, but I didn’t drive 5.5 hours to tag out in 10 min on a management buck. It’s a gamble that hopefully will pay off. Either he comes back out or something larger. Either works fine for me.
