Just got back late last night form the ranch. Still very green but getting really dusty out there. There was a big storm to our north Tuesday night but only light sprinkles made it to us in Villa Union. My pond on the south end is now dry...No rattlebugs were seen this trip which is fine by me. Got a lot of work done this trip. The bulldozer didn't work out as planned...kept overheating. Hopefully they will finish in the next week or so. Some of our deer still have horns apparently. Cowboy said he saw a really big buck on the ranch last week. I hope he hangs around until December. Getting really hot. Be safe and hydrate.

I was under the impression it was for big deer but I guess not. There's tons of 175"+ deer taken off LF ranches every year in the USA.
During the late 70's and through the 80's, we had a place 2 hrs. south of Matamoras. We only bird hunted, but it was something we looked forward to every year. It was never about the amount of birds we killed, it was always because of the whole experience. It is really hard to describe but as others have said, its the whole adventure. Burning through barrels, bruised arms cabrito tacos and cold cervesa. I miss those times and can't even imagine how great a time deer hunting would be.

The ranch is east of Villa Union in the state of Coahuila. Management bucks are slick 8 points or less scoring 140" or below. Most of the blinds and feeders are already set up. We feed protein almost year around out of 15 feeders. We have cowboys that keep the feeders full for us. You can kill predators, dove, and quail. As of right now we can't kill does. But the good thing is our ratio is really good and we're not overrun with does.

I hunted that ranch about 4/5 years ago. Very remote. If it's the same cowboy he's awesome. We ran the electricity from the neighbors to the camp house.
