On the way down now. Any one hunting this morning?

I am close to 1024 and Blue hill rd.

Also had a mountain lion on camera back in November. They are out there.

Hey Trey.
No rutting here yet. But numbers look great.
Visibility less than 50 yards this morning though.

Our first year out there. What are the chances it kicks off this weekend with the moon and cold front? I really have no idea what to expect but sure am looking forward to it.

It could happen. It is usually between Thanksgiving and First 2 weeks of December. I bet there will be some activity after the moon and this cold snap. I have saw more rubs and scrapes this year (early) so I hope its on.

Seeing a lot more scrapes this year for this time of the year. Hoping it holds of until the next full moon cycle, which is in the second week of December!! Work has me in Florida for two weeks right after thanksgiving

I am kinda hoping for a early one this year lol

The way i am seeing the scrapes and the action on opening weekend I believe it will be a early rut.

I watched deer fight and make rubs and scraped right in front of me.

We're just south of blntrey3, been here since 11/19. The rut should be going good by the end of the week. The 9pt i shot yesterday was with a doe. He wasnt running her, but she wasn't going anywhere without his escort.

I'm here in comstock, off fm 1024. Rode around a little today and saw a ton of rubs and scrapes, but no rutting activity so far. Hopefully this little cold snap will pick it up.

The fog this morning was pretty bad. Still not much rut activity. Seen a few bucks work scrapes and rubs, that's about it. Had 2 does and a decent buck eating under the feeder together this morning.

Patience will be your "ace in the hole" this year. The past two years have been great on rain for the VV area... I don't think I have ever seen so many good deer running around. Sit, wait and you will be rewarded!! Good luck out there

I had Tyler in my stand with me to kill a long horn spike I had running around. He got him. We are headed in.
We did see more chasing than I've seen so far. Sure wish my original plan of hunting all week would have panned out. Wife is having surgery in the morning. Hopefully I'll be back next weekend.

They were moving very well this past weekend. Overcast and cool with a little fog made for some good hunting. Bucks are starting to get frisky, especially the young ones. I rattled in a nice 11 on Sunday morning and my GF killed a nice 8 following a doe.

I hunted north west of Juno back in the early 80's for some years, and the rut always kicked off Thanksgiving, or right after.(First week in December)

I was in Val Verde Nov. 30th - Dec. 4th. Very Wet. Deer were very active, saw some good fights and good chasing from both young and mature bucks. On average was seeing about 10-15 deer per hunt. I shot a cull buck and a doe. Heading back this Thursday for another run. Hope to see some new deer that have not been on camera. We baited out all the main roads before we left and will continue that strategy when we arrive.

Further west.....North/West of Comstock. Saturday morning it was pretty aggressive....it is going to get pretty cold at the end of this week, I honestly don't know what to expect, I just hope there are some new (bigger) deer I haven't see before moving.

I hunted a few times Loma Alta area years ago, off Dolan Road. I really like that area. There was not as many whitetail, but the place we hunted had its share of exotics. Sweet Area!
