Filling up and headed to the casa. Eating tag soup but was still nice. Right out the gate had a big hog 20 yards in the brush. Big ole thing...moved like a full back! Then had a doe in my sights but got spooked by a diesel rolling in. Regardless had a good time...

Fall has definitely settled in there. I was up there last weekend of October and everything was still pretty green. Hopefully headed back up this weekend

Alright, sounds good. From everything I've heard from others that are pretty successful out there, pop-up blinds may be kinda iffy. Sounds like making a ground blind is a little easier, as the deer are pretty smart and spook when they see pop-ups. It's worth a try though!

I figured we had until jan 7th! well that changes my game plans some. And I am glad you said something because I would of been hunting illegally soon.

You boys don't read so well. It's open Dec 5 - Jan 7. You just won't be able to shoot does, and no more than 1 buck (Either unbranched or greater than 13"). I'll hunt the place for muhself

This is what's online though TPWD.

Go to their website > Hunting > Public > Interactive Map > Scroll to Pat Mayse > Open PDF

You can also reference the map with the legal game box in person underneath the tin roof thing. It should have the same information available. Maybe they were playing tricks on y'all, so y'all wouldn't bag a deer LOL

It’ll be open until January. I’m heading out there on Friday and I’ll be out there all weekend...as long as work doesn’t get in the way haha

It's kind of implied that you can't shoot does because of the regulations within Lamar county. Unless I'm incorrect and you can disregard the county law, on the WMA I wouldn't shoot does.

Back in the day the old Sabine bottom wma didn't have the 13 inch rule like the county did. The biologist set the rules of the WMA. They do not have to follow the same restrictions as the county. Most that are archery only allow you to shoot doe all season long.
