It would technically be considered a dry fire, and probably an ouchy to you the shooter.

If you decide to chance it......I'd warm up the spot with a hairdryer or heat gun then apply a spot of thin penetrating super glue and maybe wrap some thread around it with some more superglue.Comment

I have old broken compound arrows that line the fence as yardage markers. In baseball, if we cracked a woody, we'd tape it up and use it as a cage bat. And designated ones were commonly taped before being used to prevent them from breaking. That being said, I'm not sure the same applies here.Comment
