Great thread. I was just about to ask the same thing that this thread already covers. I too and looking to make the step up from iPhone & editor to nice camera. I do a lot of sunset photos with people/animals and the iPhone just isn't cutting it. Thanks again for posting.

i enjoy photographing landscape, bugs, wildlife, sunsets, beaches , trees, lakes , rivers, etc. I really like orange , blues and greens to stand out and pop in the pics. I have learned with this post i have some research to do just with basic lingo on cameras, lens, what they do , etc.

Get this book by TBHer, Russell Graves. It is a good place to start learning.
